Van Eileen's was orignally 2 burger joints, one on Cottesloe Beach (opposite Van Eileen st), which unfortunately was bulldozed in the early 90's (from my hazy memory), never to return. The surviving eatery, on Stirling Hwy in Mosman Park was always the physically larger of the 2 premises, and is popular with UWA students chasing a late night feed and a break from studying.

Van Eileens are open (roughly) from 4pm till 2am most nights

Just got news that the remaining Van Eileen's has now been bulldozed. not sure as yet as to what, if anything, will take it's place, but I think it's pretty safe to say it won't be another late night burger joint.

Just noticed this Phil, I will have to have a look, I have eaten there plenty of times with no complaints. Bit of a shame really, was a good stop if you were heading away from Freo

We used to take cruises there all the time.... I haven't been really active in organising cruises for a while now though... And was thinking about taking SupraWA there for one of our monthly meets...

That was just before I got the bad news, which is bad news on a couple of counts. Not only does it rob us and many others of another late night hangout / feed, it takes away another legitimate gathering point for car clubs...

I really don't like shopping centre meets, as they always seem to attract the wrong sort of attention, but with the definate lack of late night fast food (asides from HJ's and Macca's) it's getting hard to do anything else.. Which does hurt the clubs and the social aspect of the car scene...
