Yesterday 05/04/2006 i took my car to an "approved vehicle examinator" in Rockingham, don't know if i can post the name of the shop or not but i will say it's on Safety Bay Road.
He would have to be the most arrogant, nasty, roughest person i have ever had to deal with. (won't call him a man coz he's anything but!!!!)
First he takes my car into the garage and puts her onto the arms that go under the car body to raise her into the air. He opens the doors and checks them out, couldn't get the rear right hand side one open (he's an idiot), then he lifts my boot up and stood scratching his head for a minute unsure what to do (i have recently done stereo work in there), then when he goes to shut it, he lowers the lid down slowly, then lifts it up again and throws the lid down full force!!!!
After alot of stuffing around and taking my car for a drive around the block he comes back to tell me the "problems".
He tells me i need the "original" springs back in her as they nearly "fell" out when he lifted her up, (obviously he doesn't believe in springs lifting up when the body is being raised), he tells me that my air pod needs a bracket to secure it to the body of the car in case of fire, my tacho light "light" needs to be removed coz it's too bright (i had it set so that it wouldn't have a hope in hell off ever going off, so the mongrel has moved my light switch to make it go off), there is too much play in my steering wheel ( the way he was pushing and pulling it.......... towards my bonnet and then towards himself........ i'm surprised he didn't snap something) don't know about anydoby else out there but i don't drive a car on the road pushing and pulling my steering wheel violently back and forth.
Everytime i tried asking him a question to what he was "saying", he looked at me, wouldn't let me finish and said " i'm right, you're wrong, i'm licensed and you're not. You have no idea what you are talking about".
He didn't even say it to me, he was literally barking at me and talking to me like i was nothing more than sticky gum on the bottom of his shoe.
He even tried telling me that my clear taillights weren't RTA approved and i had to put my original ones back on.
When i got home after calming down minimally, i opened the back door without a problem, over and over again,
Then i took out my original tail lights, and believe it or not, my clear ones have more info on them than the original ones.
He was so nasty and arrogant and refused to listen to a word i said.
I have rung the head inspector in Mandurah and am waiting for him to get back to me, and i'm going to put in a formal complaint against him.
He has no right to act and behave the way he did, and when i rung back after i got home, and informed his offsider that i couldn't even read this guys handwriting, he proceeded to laugh at me down the phone. So i ended up telling him what i thought aswell.
How can people like that get away with things like that?
I'd love to know how the hell he sleeps at night treating people like that.
I know it's not just towards me (female), i have just recently found out that he's treated guys like this aswell.
So now i have to waste money on things that are a crock of shit, and "if you need more time then come back in two weeks and i'll put a fresh sticker on for you" with a smile on his face.
So who the hell is going to keep paying the $54.60 for the first visit and then the $39.40 for the second visit? and if it doesn't pass the second visit pay the first $54.60 again?
I'm a single mum raising two kids, working my arse off to put food on the table, put my kids thru school and sport, and hopefully try and enjoy what i like to do which is anything to do with cars.
My car is not unsafe and is not unroadworthy, if it was there is no way in hell i would risk putting my kids in danger.
Makes a person wonder " why the hell should i bother?"
If anyone has any opinions i would gratefully love to hear them, coz i'm at the end of my rope at the moment.

Well,
i have had the sticker removed now, and have also received a letter back from the head inspector.
He went and had a chat to the person on Safety Bay Road that originally looked at my car, and that "person" states that he tried on "numeropus" occassions to shut my boot lid properly and it refused to "latch" so he was dignified in having to slam it shut.
I will not rest with this. I work hard for my possessions, and other than my house my car is my next biggest thing i am working towards, and who the hell has the right to treat someone elses belongings like crap just because they can't be bothered?
This is why i hate leaving my car with anyone, and i will always be where the car is, and after this experience, god help the next person that asks for my keys and tells me to wait inside the office.
The person that slammed my lid shut, i sat there and watched him do it, i stood outside the office and watched him slam it shut with such force i'm surprised my taillights didn't shatter.
I know it's wishful thinking about stuff like this, but i know i'm sick of it. If you're paying someone to either check or work on your car, they should treat it with respect. Unfortunately i'm not rich or have a great deal of money, but when i've saved up for something or have something done, i expect to be treated with respect.
The second place i took it to were really great, they let me go with the car in the workshop and explained everything to me, at the same time as showing me. I know alot of people (guys and girls) aren't interested in that kind of thing, but i like to know how my car works and what i have to do to replace things or fix things, and exactly what i'm looking at, why? because alot of the time i do it myself, alot more rewarding that way.................... and cheaper aswell.
Well, moral of the story, don't take your car to Safety Bay Road and don't leave it alone for a second.

Yeah well you have come by what people know as a #@%$.
But you get that and you have to get over it.
Least of all you now know where not to go for vehicle inspections.
Driving a holden.......... no wonder why you got a sticker.
By the way the holden you drive has pink tail lights.
Everyone this person loves pink.
Any way if you dont want problems with the cops remove all the non essential crap you have in your car. As if your car requires a Tacho its a standard v6 commodore on gas.
wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pud.
If you didn"t see on tv the 2006 BATHURST.
FORD WON.
BUY A FORD.
